The Chapter continued these activities through several name changes, always seeking to raise the professional level of home inspectors and to encourage camaraderie among its members. In 2005, ASHI Washington formed The Washington Home Inspectors Legislative Advisory Group (WHILAG) in conjunction with several other home inspector organizations. Through these efforts home inspector got a law that was good for the consumer and not overly restrictive. Licensing was enacted in 2009.
ASHI Washington changed its bylaws and name again in 2023. Membership now includes all Washington licensed home inspectors . In 2023 The chapter evolved once again to brand itself Northwest Building and Home Inspectors Association Including inspector from Oregon Idaho, Washington and Alaska.
